One house, one plan
Flooring a whole house room by room, over a couple of years, is how most people end up with a hallway that does not quite meet the living room and three different shades of oak.
Doing it in one go is cheaper per square metre, faster, and — more importantly — it lets the floors be designed together. Where the hard flooring stops and the carpet starts, how the hall meets the kitchen, which direction the planks run through an open-plan space, whether the stair carpet picks up the tone of the hall floor: those are decisions worth making deliberately, once.
What a package usually looks like
For most houses and new-build plots it is some version of:
- Ground floor — LVT, vinyl or hardwood through the hall, kitchen and living space, laid to a single setting-out so the pattern runs consistently through the doorways.
- Stairs and landing — carpet, chosen to sit comfortably against the hall floor.
- Bedrooms — carpet, with underlay specified room by room.
- Bathrooms and utility — a waterproof finish, detailed properly at the perimeter.
Nothing about that is fixed. Some clients want hard flooring throughout; some want carpet in every bedroom but a hard floor on the landing. We will build the package around how you actually live in the house.
Renovations, new builds and whole-plot fit-outs
We take on full-house packages for homeowners renovating or moving in, and for developers and contractors specifying complete plots. On a plot, the advantage is the same as it is in a private house: one contractor, one programme, one standard, and no gap between trades where the preparation gets forgotten.
Preparation, priced honestly
A whole house nearly always throws up more than one subfloor condition — a solid hall, boarded bedrooms, a kitchen extension on a newer slab. We survey all of it at the measure and price the preparation you actually need: latex screeding, smoothing, levelling or a damp proof membrane, room by room.
You get one written quotation covering the lot, so there is no mid-job conversation about an extra that should have been foreseen.
Timescales
A full house is usually a run of consecutive days rather than a single visit, and we will sequence it so you can keep living there where possible — typically working upstairs and downstairs in blocks rather than opening up the whole house at once.
