LVT Design Flooring

Luxury vinyl tile that looks like oak or stone, wears like a workhorse and can be laid in herringbone, chevron or plank — designed with you, then fitted properly.

What LVT actually is

Luxury vinyl tile is a layered floor — a textured, photographic wear layer bonded to a rigid or flexible core. In practice that means it can look like aged oak, limestone or poured concrete, while being warm underfoot, quiet, waterproof and far more forgiving than the material it imitates. It is what most people now mean when they say they want the look of wood without the upkeep.

We fit LVT in kitchens, hallways, living rooms, bathrooms and across whole ground floors — and on new-build plots, where the same product has to look identical in every single home.

Design is the whole point

We call it design flooring because the pattern is a decision, not an afterthought. The same plank laid three different ways gives you three different rooms:

  • Herringbone — the 45-degree zig-zag that makes a hallway or kitchen look considered. It is the pattern we are asked for most, and the one that punishes a careless setting-out most heavily.
  • Chevron — planks mitred to meet in a point. Sharper and more formal than herringbone, and more demanding to cut.
  • Plank — long boards run with the light or the length of the room, for open-plan spaces where you want calm rather than pattern.

Colour matters as much as pattern. We bring samples to you and look at them in your actual light, against your actual kitchen units, rather than under a showroom spotlight that flatters everything.

Why the subfloor decides the result

An LVT floor is only ever as flat as what is underneath it. Because the material is comparatively thin, every ridge, screw head, trowel line or dip telegraphs through to the surface — sometimes immediately, sometimes six months later when the light changes.

So the preparation is not an optional extra we quote separately to keep the headline price down. Depending on what we find when we lift the old covering, that can mean latex screeding, smoothing, levelling or a damp proof membrane. We tell you what your floor needs before you commit, not after.

What the job looks like

We start with a free home measure. We measure carefully — enough to cut waste out of the quote rather than pad it — and talk through pattern, colour, thresholds and how the new floor will meet your skirting, doors and stairs.

On fitting day we lift and dispose of the old covering, prepare the subfloor, lay the floor, and clean up properly before we leave. Most single rooms are a day; a full ground floor in herringbone is usually two or more, because a pattern floor cannot be rushed without it showing.

Where we work

We fit LVT throughout Newark-on-Trent and across Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire, for homeowners and for developers running multiple plots at once. Flexible payment options are available on domestic work.

Excellent, helpful, knowledgeable, hardworking guy. Nathan and his team went above and beyond for us and our project. They laid the DPM, self leveling and the flooring we requested. We chose 3 different coloured flooring for the whole bungalow and it was laid in a herring bone pattern throughout. We would definitely recommend them and already thinking of other family members and friends who would need some new flooring. Very reasonable price too. 5+* treatment for an average price. Thank you so much

We would highly recommend pro flooring after using them for our new lounge flooring this week. Impeccable work done by Nathan and a great job from start to finish. Nathan gave us plenty of time to choose from a range of LVT samples, using his knowledge and experience to help us choose the right tile. He measured down to the T ensuring the was no waste and made sure every detail was finished to the highest standard. He even went out of his way to colour match the grout and silicone to the fireplace tiles. We're so happy with our beautiful new flooring. Amazing craftsmanship. Thankyou so much!

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

Yes — it is one of the best choices for both. LVT is waterproof, warmer and quieter underfoot than tile, and it copes with the spills and traffic a kitchen gives it. The important part is the preparation and the way the perimeter and thresholds are finished, which is where a floor either keeps water out or does not.
